PPG has hosted interns from Clemson University, USC-Union, USC-Upstate, USC-Columbia Honors College, Virginia Tech and the University of Alabama. We offer an eight-week summer internship program as well as specialized semester-long internships during the academic school year. Our interns assist with Educational Programming, Community Outreach, Special Events,  Horticulture Management, Marketing and Public Relations, Plant Research, Archiving and Database Management.

PPG welcomes school groups, summer camps and other educational organizations to the garden during the spring and summer months. Please contact us to schedule your next field trip.  We are also excited to share our plans for our new amphitheater which will allow us to accommodate larger groups and to offer more educational programs. PPG sponsors free educational events focused on health and wellness. We also feature a variety of horticulture and nature based workshops through our life-long learning curriculum. Educational topics include plant-based nutrition, healing garden design, plant propagation, native plants of the Southern Appalachia, nature photography, beginner beekeeping, creating your own year-round survival garden, en plein air painting, backyard birds, nature writing and exploring Cherokee traditions through plant lore.
